Our staff reporter added that a large number of miscreants from Koirengei reportedly vandalised makeshift structures near Kanglatongbi Forest Gate, Imphal West under Sekmai Police station around 1 pm on Thursday.

As per sources, the structures in question were constructed on a disputed piece of land. Notably, a court order issued in 2021 mandated the removal of these structures, a directive that has not been executed till date.

The incident is suspected to be linked to the ongoing legal case surrounding the contested land. Police team rushed to the spot and also alerted the AR to prevent any law-and-order situation.

It was further reported that the miscreants had left the area before the reinforcement Police teams reached the spot. A regular case has been taken up in this regard.
