The Naga community that falls under Makhang and Kanglatongbi area has unanimously formed a forum namely Makhang-Kanglatongbi Naga Forum (MKNF).
A statement released by the forum stated that MKNF was formed to promote peace in the area citing frequent unsolicited sounds of sophisticated arms and weapons which is causing panic among the diverse communities.
The aims and objectives of the forum are maintaining a peaceful co-existence among the different communities settling within the jurisdiction of Makhan and Kanglatongbi as responsible citizens and also to promote peace and harmony as called out loud and clear by the state government.
The forum comprises different Naga tribes representing Liangmei, Rongmei, Zeme, Npui, Tangkhul, Mao, and Poumai. Jurist Abonmai is the president while Graceson Awungshi is the secretary of the forum among others.
