The Naga seed sowing festival Lui-Ngai-Ni began in Tamenglong at Mini Stadium Tamenglong Apollo ground under the theme ‘Quintessential Cultural Resurgence’ on Wednesday.
The state level festival is being organised by the joint tribe council under the banner of United Naga Council, (UNC) Manipur.
The seed sowing festival is being celebrated by all the Naga tribes to offer gratitude and praise to the almighty for the bountiful blessings in the year past and invoking God to continue showering his blessings on the villagers in the coming seasons.
Zeme Baptist Church pastor Reverend Namreikeu Pame invoked God’s blessings to start the seed sowing festival.
Following the invocation, UNC president hoisted the festival flag in the presence of the presidents of the tribes and other dignitaries.
The introduction session witnessed folk songs, cultural dances, rock band music, blowing of trumpet, etc.
Local MLA Jangamlung Panmei, 6th Assam Rifles commandant Colonel Aman Ahluwalia SM, J. Kumo Sha, MLA, 47-Karong(ST) AC, Manipur etc attended the introduction session.
