General-Officer-Commanding-In-Chief (GOC-In-Chief), Eastern Command, Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, along with GOC, III Corps (Spear corps), Lieutenant General HS Sahi and IG AR(SOUTH) Major General Ravroop Singh called on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday and briefed her about the security situation in the state.
During the meeting, the Army officers highlighted the security preparedness made by the Army and Assam Rifles to face any eventuality in the state as well as the activities taken up to ensure safety among the masses to Uikey, stated a release from Governor’s Secretariat.
They also briefed her on the relief activities taken up to support displaced families in different parts of the state, it stated. They further assured to always work to maintain peace and stability in the Northeastern region and particularly in the state of Manipur, it mentioned.
The Governor appreciated their efforts and urged them to extend all possible support to the administration in the run up to restore complete peace and tranquility in the state, the Raj Bhavan stated.
