LS Polls in Manipur: Final polling personnel dispersed

All the 13 assembly constituencies within Imphal West district will join the rest of the assembly constituencies falling under 1-IMPC in the Phase-I Poll of the 18th Lok Sabha Elections 2024 which will be held on Friday.

Polling personnel in respect of Imphal West district, who are deployed for 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency (1-IMPC) election, were dispersed on Thursday from the District Election Office, Imphal West to their respective polling stations.

All the 13 assembly constituencies within Imphal West district will join the rest of the assembly constituencies falling under 1-IMPC in the Phase-I Poll of the 18th Lok Sabha Elections 2024 which will be held on Friday.

District election officer, Imphal West Th Kirankumar and assistant returning officers monitored the dispersal and ensured all the polling personnel reached their designated polling stations safely.

There are a total of 1,319 Polling Stations in 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency (1-IMPC). In addition, there are 29 Special Polling Stations in 1-IMPC for Internally Displaced People (IDPs). In Imphal West district alone, there are 145 women manned Polling Stations and 13 Model Polling Stations.

The District Election Office, Imphal West has also identified 70 vulnerable and critical Polling Stations and have made special security arrangements – such as deployment of micro-observers and multiple security layers in addition to the normal security measures.

In Thoubal district, Polling parties, Polling Security Personnel, officials and staff involved in the conduct of the election were dispatched to their respective polling stations/booths today from the Dispatch Centre at Mini Secretariat, DC Office Complex and Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School.

For the district, a total of 248 polling stations have been set up; 123 polling stations for Inner Parliamentary Constituency and 125 numbers of polling stations for Outer Parliamentary Constituency.

Additionally, two special polling stations for Internally Displaced voters staying in relief camps or otherwise (friends/relatives) have been set up.

Special Polling station at Rice Research Station for voters of 1- Inner Manipur (Gen) Parliamentary Constituency and Special Polling station at Y.K College for voters of 2- Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency will enable Internally Displaced voters to cast their votes.

All polling stations totalling to 40 under Thoubal AC will be all-women polling stations and three model polling stations in all 6 AC totalling to 18 Model Polling stations have been set up.

As per Final Electoral Rolls 2024, there are 2,04,520 voters in Thoubal District. As many as 4402 voters have been registered as first time voters and 1,002 voters recorded as voters above the age of 85 years.

Six assembly constituencies of Thoubal District falling within the jurisdiction of DC/DEO Thoubal will go to polls on Friday l in the first phase.

Voters of 30-Lilong, 31-Thoubal and 32- Wangkhem will cast their vote for the 1 Manipur (Gen) Parliamentary Constituency while the voters of 33-Heirok, 34-Wangjing and 35- Khangabok will cast their vote for the 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency seat.

In the first phase, polling will be held for the 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency seat at assembly segments of 33-Heirok, 34-Wangjing Tentha and 35- Khangabok, 36- Wabagai, 37-Kakching, 38-Hiyanglam, 39- Sugnoo,41-Chandel (ST), 46- Saikul (ST), 50-Kangpokpi, 51- Saitu (ST),57-Henglep (ST) and 58- Churachandpur(ST).

The District Election Office Kakching is all set to conduct a free and fair election. Kakching district comprises four Assembly constituencies Wabagai, Kakching, Hiyanglam and Sugnoo with a total of 1,17,576 voters.

Polling officials and security personnel were dispatched to their respective polling stations. Altogether, 143 Polling stations have been set up in the four Assembly constituencies in Kakching district.

As many as 5 Special polling stations have been assigned for IDPs staying in various Relief camps (2 for Inner and 3 for Outer). The special polling stations are also identified for eligible electors not staying in Relief Camps but otherwise staying with relatives/friends within the jurisdiction of Kakching district.

A total of 31,372 voters will be casting their votes at the 36 Polling Stations for the 36-Wabagai Assembly Constituency. The electorate includes 15,055 male, 16,311 female and 6 transgender voters. Out of the total 36 Polling stations, 8 will be manned by women personnel.

37-Kakching Assembly Constituency has 30,218 voters of which 14,473 are males, 15,737 are females and 8 are transgender voters. There will be 36 polling stations for Kakching AC, of which 17 will be manned by women personnel.

For 38-Hiyanglam AC, a total of 27,846 voters will exercise their franchise across 36 polling stations. This includes 13,674 male and 14,172 female voters. Women personnel will man 17 Polling stations while 51 vehicles have been requisitioned for this particular AC.

In respect of 39-Sugnoo AC, a total of 28,140 voters are set to cast their votes at 35 Polling stations. This particular AC has 13,992 male, 14,141 female and seven transgender voters. six polling stations will be manned by women personnel, and 3 special polling stations are set up for IDPs.

The total number of electors in Bishnupur district as per the final special summary revision 2024 is 1,83,472 (89,209 male, 94,220 female, and 43 transgender).

There will be 256 polling stations including 22 special polling stations in the district. The total number of polling personnel deployed on election duty is 1332 including 30 percent reserved, while the total number of security personnel deployed is 2086, including armed and unarmed personnel.

In Kangpokpi district, polling will be held at the 166 polling stations and 24 special polling stations, of which 4 special polling stations are meant for voters who have been displaced from the 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.

A total number of 103563 voters of the district which includes 51184 male voters, 52378 female voters and 1 third gender voter of the three Assembly segments namely 46-Saikul (ST), 50-Kangpokpi and 51-Saitu (ST) will vote for the 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency. The district has 77 numbers of female managed polling stations.
