Lok Sabha Election 2024 in Manipur: Miscreants destroy EVMs in Ukhrul

Assistant returning officer (Ukhrul) Kajaiai Gangmei wrote to the returning officer, 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, Manipur informing that miscreants have destroyed EVMs and VVPAT at 2 polling stations namely 44/36-Ukhrul (A) and 44/41-Ukhrul (D-1).

Office of the Assistant Returning Officer 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, Manipur 44-Ukhrul (ST) and 45-Chingai (ST) Assembly Segments alerted that armed miscreants allegedly destroyed EVMs and VVPAT at 2 polling stations during the Outer Manipur LS Polls on Friday.

Assistant returning officer (Ukhrul) Kajaiai Gangmei wrote to the returning officer, 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, Manipur informing that miscreants have destroyed EVMs and VVPAT at 2 polling stations namely 44/36-Ukhrul (A) and 44/41-Ukhrul (D-1).

It stated that the same was reported by concerned presiding officers at 3.40 pm.

It further said that the EVMs and VVPAT have been intentionally destroyed and added that concerned engineers have been made to examine the destroyed/damaged EVMS. The result of the Poll at the Polling Stations could not be ascertained for the same reason, it asserted.

As per unofficial sources, EVMs at four polling stations were vandalised in Ukhrul.

The polling stations are 44/36 Ukhrul A Model High School, 44/50 Ukhrul F KK Leishiphanit Junior High School, 44/41 Ukhrul D1 Greenland Primary School, and 43/19 Shingkap.
