Locals of Tera Bazar in Imphal West and surrounding areas on Wednesday burnt the effigy of Mizoram CM stating that his involvement in the present crisis of Manipur will be taken as adding fuel to the fire and even questioned how much he was paid as bribe by illegal immigrants and Kuki militants.

The locals also condemned the protest carried out in Mizoram supporting the demand of ‘separate administration’ and the usage of abusive words against the Meitei community and chief minister N Biren Singh during the protest.

Speaking on the sideline of the protest, one Khuraijam Thasana told the media that the crisis is happening in Manipur not in Mizoram and people strongly condemned the act of Zoramthanga for interfering in the internal issue of Manipur.

She questioned why the Meiteis living in Mizoram were threatened to leave Mizoram. Presently, many Meiteis displaced from Mizoram are taking shelter in Assam, she said, adding that more intensified agitations will follow in response to Zoramthanga supporting the ‘separate administration’ demand openly.

Women of Manipur are ready to launch 3rd Nupi Lal to protect the integrity and people of Manipur, she said, adding that the dream to disintegrate the integrity of Manipur will be useless even if there is support from Mizoram Chief Minister.

She further cautioned that the womenfolk of the area are ready to launch various intensified agitations to destroy Narco-terrorists from Manipur.

Similar protest was also conducted near Sagolband Moirang Leirak, Imphal West.
