Library and Information Centre Kakching held its 31st Foundation Day on Sunday by felicitating Kshetrimayum Deepi Chanu who secured 508 rank in the civil services examination conducted by UPSC at the library hall.
The 484 edition of “Special Sunday”, initiated by the library for the welfare of the students, was also held during the event by organising an interaction programme of Deepi Chanu with the students.
Attendees of the event observed a two-minute silence for the late founding members of the Library and Information Centre Kakching. Gifts were also presented to the senior founding members of the library during the event.
Founders of the library Ksh Mangal Singh, N Giridhari Singh and N Shamu Singh, members M Jamini Devi, Y Satya Singh, N Nopur Singh, Naorem Banita Devi and N Subhaschandra Singh and Deepi’s parents Ksh Deben Singh (pilot) and N Pravarani Devi attended the event.
