A total of 70 people got enrolled for Unique Disability ID during a Legal Awareness cum Unique Disability ID Registration Camp in Churachandpur.

A Legal Awareness cum Unique Disability ID Registration Camp was held on Friday at Singngat YPA Hall, organised by Centre for Community Initiative and Pearsonmun Legal Aid Clinic and supported by District Legal Services Authority, Churachandpur and YPA Singngat Block.

The occasion was graced as a resource person by CCI coordinator (Advocacy) Paul Rozarlien who spoke on the Right to Person with Disabilities Act, 2016 after which registration for UDID began where 70 people got enrolled. They will get the ID card after assessment that will be held with a panel of experts.

The program was in tune with the directive from the Chief Justice of India, who is also executive Chairman of NALSA, to mark and celebrate the 75th year of India’s independence which envisages that those people with disabilities should get their due share based on empowerment of citizens through Legal and Outreach program.
