The two accused in the alleged murder of BJP Manipur Pradesh Ex-Servicemen Cell convenor Laishram Rameshwor have been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
According to sources, the two individuals Ayekpam Keshorjit and Naorem Ricky Pointing were accused of the alleged shooting and murder of BJP Manipur Pradesh Ex-Servicemen Cell convenor Laishram Rameshwor, 58, son of late Nimai from Thoubal Kshetri Leikai, on January 24.
Ayekpam Keshorjit, 46, son of late Kunjo from Haobam Marak Irom Leikai, Imphal West and Naorem Ricky Pointing, 24, son of Kesho from Keinou Thongkhong Maning Leikai, Bishnupur, were nabbed by the police at the night of the incident, it stated.
After they were produced at the CJM Thoubal court twice, they were further remanded in judicial custody for 15 days for further investigation on Monday, it continued.
Meanwhile, upon receiving information that the two accused will be produced in the court, a crowd of people from Thoubal Kshetri Leikai flocked to the gate of CJM Thoubal court complex and shouted for the accused to be punished under the court of law.
