The Khangthah Zuun Pawl (KZP), the student body of Simte Tribe, on Saturday organised Fresher's Meet Cum Career Guidance Programme, 2022 for its new college students at Simte Inn, Simveng.
The programme was divided into two sessions where the first half was all about freshers, held in the morning while the second session in the afternoon was on careers.
The fresher's meet began with a welcome speech by the vice-president of KZP L Paukhanmuan Simte, followed by secretary reports of different units, introduction of freshers, presidential speech by Phiamphu Khamsanglian, blessing prayers by Rev Lamkhochinlal and the declaration of Mr & Miss Freshers by the social & culture department of KZP.
Altogether 64 freshers, comprising 24 boys and 40 girls, mainly from Rayburn collage, VK Tawna College and Churachandpur Government College attended the meet.
Rev Lamkhochinlal told the young students that they are the masters of their own fate and success and that the society will evolve around them. He also cited examples from persons in the Bible and famous people who reached the top because they had the will to reach first and didn’t want to be left behind.
In the second session, L Pausuanlun spoke on ‘Career after 10+2’ while Dr T Khaibiaklian, MBBS spoke on ‘Career in medical sciences’ and Phiamphu Khamsanglian, President of KZP GHQ spoke on ‘Career in the field of entrepreneurship and life skills Development’.
