A team of Bishnupur commandos arrested one over-ground worker of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup Socialist Revolutionary Party (KYKL-SOREPA), a faction of KYKL, from Nambol Khoriphaba Mamang, Bishnupur on Tuesday.
According to police, based on intel about the movement of some members of a valley-based militant group in and around Nambol Khoriphaba Mamang, a team of Bishnupur commandos rushed to the area and conducted a search operation around 10.30 am.
The team of Bishnupur commando acted under the command of sub-inspector Robinson and the supervision of additional SP Ops of Bishnupur and the overall guidance of senior SP Bishnupur along with a column of 16 AR, it continued.
It maintained that the team detained one pedestrian who identified himself as Ningombam Rabichandra Singh, 23, son of N Pakpi Singh from Moidangpok Khunou Mayai Leikai in Imphal West.
The person was also identified as an overground worker of KYKL (SOREPA) working under one Moirangthem Naoba Meitei of KYKL who recently recruited two youths, it mentioned.
The police team then arrested the person at the traffic point of Nambol Khoriphaba Mamang at 11.45 am and handed him over to the Nambol police station for further action, it added.
