The present conflict should be resolved through dialogue and not through violence as everyone in the state has suffered so much and the future of innocent children are at stake, the Komrem Union, North East India said on Wednesday.
The Union stated in a release that the Komrem Community of Manipur have always enjoyed peaceful coexistence with one and all in the State and it had been their endeavour at all times to maintain and strengthen the same.
“So, whenever conflicts between brothers had taken place, our hearts had bled and we suffered silently. The same is true with the present conflict. As we are a small community, there is nothing much we can do except pray to God without ceasing for peace and amity to return,” it added.
“Therefore, to do anything which will contribute to the escalation of the conflict is out of our minds and our hearts. So, it pains us so much when we are blamed or suspected of aiding any group or community involved in the conflict,” it mentioned.
The union added that they do understand that since they are in the midst of the conflict, they can be sometimes suspected but as a community, they would like to assure one and all in the state that they have no intention to get involved in the present conflict in Manipur.
"We will continue to pray for peace and unity to return," the union said.
