The Kangliepak Kanba Lup (KKL), Manipur on Thursday stated that the sanctity and uniqueness of Ima-keithel will be preserved while stressing that any markets or shopping enterprises based on communal lines will not be tolerated.
In a release, KKL questioned whether the state government should agree to the different demands of the several communities residing in Manipur.
KKL further warned any individuals that demand markets or commercial spaces on communal lines to refrain from doing so.
In regard to Ima-keithel, KKL has always stood for the sanctity of the world’s only historic market place reserved for women, it stated.
