Khangabok Relief Committee on Monday organised a felicitation cum certificate distribution ceremony for the meritorious inmate students (BOSEM & COHSEM) and vocational trainees at Khangabok Higher Secondary School.
Certificates were also distributed to the inmate trainees who joined the Vocational training programme for Kouna craft at the ceremony held at the school campus on Monday.
Thoubal district Deputy Commissioner Ahanthem Subash, SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam; Khangabok Zilla Parishad member Kh Rajmohon; retired teacher L Ibungohal and Khangabok Higher Secondary School Principal Kh Radhamani attended the ceremony as presidium members.
DC Subash appreciated the committee for organising the felicitation programme for the displaced students in the relief camps who passed their examinations. He also expressed satisfaction on one inmate student Yendrembam Meiraba of Serou for securing 10th position in the class XII arts stream.
The committee was also appreciated for providing the inmates with vocational training which will help in their financial status in the future.
Subash also stated that training on how to make candles is also being conducted for the inmates in the relief centre opened in Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex and their products will soon be available in the market. Different types of vocational training will be further provided to the inmates, he added.
SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam also appreciated the students and also wished them a bright future.
Eight students of class X, two students of class XII and 20 vocational trainees were felicitated during the programme.
