Kh Joykishan, sitting JD-U MLA, wins Thangmeiband AC in Imphal West

Kh Joykishan: I won the election by the love of the people not by money and muscle power.

Khumukcham Joykishan, sitting MLA and JD-U candidate from Thangmeiband constituency in Imphal West district of Manipur won by defeating his rival BJP candidate, Jotin Waikhom, by 3,773 more votes. Joykishan received 13,629 total votes, while Jotin got 9,856 votes.

Returning officer handed over the election certificate to Khumukcham Joykishan.

Addressing the media after the win, Joykishan expressed his gratitude to the people of Thangmeiband constituency for giving his mandate of five years.

"I won the election by the love of the people not by money and muscle power," he said.

In this coming five-year term, more efforts will be given in education sector as most of the construction works are completed in the constituency, Joykishan assured.
