The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) on Monday claimed responsibility for the bomb that exploded on Sunday night at Wangoo along Imphal-Sugnu road, injuring two personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on election duty.

A statement issued by Mangal Khuman, department of publicity and propaganda of PREPAK said the bomb attack was carried out by its ‘red army’.

The attack was carried out in support of the boycott and total shutdown called by the umbrella organisation Coordination Committee (CorCom) against the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state to campaign for his party with the ideology to execute the usual agenda of extending the colonial rule of India by enslaving the people.

The red army will continue to attack the Indian Occupational Forces (IOF) until they are rooted out from the soil of Manipur along with India occupancy in Manipur, it said.

It further warned the Indian armed forces to withdraw from the soil of Manipur if they do not want to meet the same fate.

It urged the public to stay away from the Indian armed forces for their safety and support the boycott and total shutdown imposed by the CorCom.
