The Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam has ordered for eviction of all the structures/buildings that falls under the Right of Way (ROW) along the National Highway-37 (Pkg-7) within the jurisdiction of Jiribam Sub Division of the stretch of land acquired for Highway expansion.
Sub Divisional Officer/SDM, Jiribam, Th Manoranjan Singh issued the notice on Monday in line with the directions issued by the DC, Jiribam.
The statement by the SDO/SDM directed all landowners who have received the compensation amount to remove all structures/buildings etc. situated in the ROW within seven days from date of issuance of the order.
It also warned that the structures will be removed without further notice using police force, if those concerned fail to comply with the order.
It mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner/CALA had issued public notices vide No 1/1/1/2024/DC (JBM) and No 1/1/1/2024/DC (JBM)/199 dated May 13, 2024 and October 14, 2024 respectively informing the landowners to handover the possession of the acquired land to the Deputy Commissioner/ NHIDCL, immediately.
