ITLF lifts indefinite shutdown

Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) said it will continue to monitor the situation and will issue a public notice if intense agitation is required.

The total and indefinite shutdown called by the Joint Students Body of Lamka and Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) in Churachandpur district against the arrest of five persons and detention of two minors by the CBI on Sunday was lifted on Tuesday.

A notice issued by media and publicity, ITLF stated that “after careful consideration, the indefinite shutdown declared by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) will be concluded by 6 pm” on Tuesday.

It said that the ITLF will continue to monitor the situation and will issue a public notice if intense agitation is required.

“In regard to the ITLF Women Wing’s weekly dharna, considering the continuous two-day shutdown, the dharna will be canceled on Wednesday and will resume from next week,” it mentioned.

The ITLF thanked the general public and the volunteers for their cooperation during the shutdown.

During the second day of the indefinite shutdown, no untoward incident was reported with all shops, government offices, and educational institutions closed down while no activities at any level were witnessed in the district.
