Manipur Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam on Friday assured that the repair works of the Irang Bridge will be completed and be ready for the public by July 15.
The minister said this during a monthly review meeting of the National Highways Road Construction with the authority of National Highways Infrastructure and Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) at the Old Secretariat Conference Hall, Imphal on Friday.
"Taking forward Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas“ during the meeting it was decided that repair works of Irang Bridge which collapsed last month will be completed and be ready for public by 15th of July," Minister Govindas Konthoujam tweeted, .

The Irang Bailey Bridge connecting Imphal-Jiribam road on National Highway-37 had collapsed on May 12 after the swift current of the river washed away its foundation.
The NHIDCL, which is responsible for the repairing and restoration works of the Irang Bailey Bridge, had said that at least a month will be taken in restoring connectivity.
The minister also said in another tweet that the bailey bridge along the Singhat-Tuivai road section (NH-102) in Churachandpur will be repaired and be ready for public use by June 30, while the Old Cachar road will be upgraded to a National Highway soon.
"Moreover, Bailey bridge at Churachandpur -Singhat-Tuivai road section (NH-102) will be repaired and be ready for Public use by 30th of June. It was also decided that Old Cachar road will be upgraded to a National Highway soon," the minister tweeted.
