Interfaith prayer with Governor Anusuiya Uikey

Altogether 25 members of the Interfaith Forum for Peace and Harmony took turns offering special prayers for the governor and peaceful coexistence for the people of Manipur, stated a release.

The Interfaith Forum for Peace and Harmony (IFPH) on Wednesday organised an interfaith prayer with Governor Anusuiya Uikey at the Bouquet Hall of Raj Bhawan, Imphal and took a pledge for nonviolence with her.

Altogether 25 members of the Interfaith forum representing Brahmakumaris, Christian, Hindu Vaishnavite, Islam, Jains, Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak and Sanamahi took turns offering special prayers for the governor and peaceful coexistence for the people of Manipur, stated a release.

Anusuiya shared her concerns for the people and assured to give her best efforts, it said. She also expressed happiness that such interfaith prayers by all religious communities will have special impacts in changing the violent environment in the state, it stated.

She also encouraged the forum to carry out such prayers in all the relief camps and expressed her willingness to join the interfaith forum’s initiative, it mentioned. IFPH Convenor also expressed gratitude to the Governor for her support and solidarity with the interfaith forum, it added
