An interaction with Woo Chan Chang of the Korean International Development Agency (KOICA) was held at the Multi-media Centre of Khongnangthaba University on Thursday.
The interaction serves as an important step towards achieving academic and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the university, stated a release.
It stated that future cooperation in Korean studies, culture, history, and tradition were discussed during the same. It emphasised medical-related job opportunities in terms of positions for doctors and nurses as well as the breadth for student exchanges, research partnerships, and career opportunities in healthcare.
Speaking at the programme, Woo Chan Chang expressed his excitement regarding the growing ties between India and Korea and the importance of such academic initiatives in nurturing cultural and professional relationships and going forward into their ventures, it noted.
He also spoke of the rising numbers of medical professionals being demanded in Korea while providing insight into prospective job opportunities for students who may be taking a career path in medicine and nursing, it said.
Registrar Khongnangthaba University, Atom Sunil Singh; Dean and Director of AYUSH A Guneshwor Sharma; faculty, Laishram Imoba Singh and other noted faculty members from Kangleipak Medical and Nursing Institute and the College of Pharmacy were present at the programme, it mentioned.
