An insurgent of proscribed group KNF (P) was arrested by a joint team of Keithelmanbi Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South), and Manipur Police at Keithelmanbi Bazaar, Imphal West on Sunday, stated a release issued by IGAR (South).  

Based on a tip-off, the combined team launched the operation which led to the apprehension of the insurgent along with one 9mm pistol, it stated.

The apprehended insurgent and the seized weapon were handed over to the Patsoi Police Station for further inspection, it added.

Meanwhile, Assam Rifles Phundrei battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) distributed solar lights for a community hall at Unopat village, Chandel district on Saturday. “As part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme and to enhance the existing infrastructure, eight solar lights were distributed for the village community hall,” it stated.
