Speaking to the media on the need for various development of foreign trade, president of the union, W Nabachandra, informed that as many as 62 items were allotted for India-Myanmar trade under the category of “normal trade.”

If steps are taken up to ensure smooth trade of those 62 items, there will be economic growth in the state, he said, adding that due to non-streamlining of the process and lack of various facilities, the traders in the state are facing hard times.

In this regard, the president suggested organising an awareness and interaction programme every year by the government for updating the new changes and also sending traders to IIFT for attaining immense knowledge in trade and organising a trade delegation to ASEAN countries.
