Indo-Bangla international seminar begins in Imphal

With the inauguration of the seminar, the Theatre Art and Literature Afflux also joined the world in the celebration of World Theatre Day.

A two-day Indo-Bangla International Seminar under the theme “The impact of art and literature in the changing society” was kicked-off on Monday at the training hall of Palem Panthou Cultural Trust, Langjing Achouba in Imphal West.

With the inauguration of the seminar, the Theatre Art and Literature Afflux also joined the world in the celebration of World Theatre Day.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Y Radheshyam elaborated on the various initiatives taken up by the state government for the welfare of the artists by ways of introducing schemes and projects.

Informing that the government is also considering increasing the budget of performing arts in the upcoming years, he called on the artists to emphasize more on their arts in order to give more exposure.

The programme also witnessed playwright critic Budha Chingtham and director of Manipur Theatre Academy, S Beeren, as presidium members.
