The Indian National Army (INA) martyrs’ campaign: Remembering the INA in the 75th year of Independence was kicked-off on Friday with the cleaning of the Statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the “ITTEFAQ, ETMAD, QURBANI’ Monument and the Memorial Complex at Moirang.
The launching of the campaign was participated by the staff and cadets of NCC Group, Imphal. It will continue till August 15, said PIB (Defence Wing) in a release.
It stated that the contribution of INA under Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose remained hidden in the fog of history for a long time and it is being recognised over the past few decades and a historical wrong is being corrected.

"What better time to honour their story and memory in the 75th Year of Independence Celebration?" the release mentioned.
The NCC considers it a privilege, on behalf of the country, to honour the memory of the INA who fell in battle and those who lived, it said, adding that the campaign is driven by the NCC, Art and Culture department, BSF and IGAR (South).
Further stating that their (INA) blood is part of the soil of Moirang and the coming generations should not forget, it said that the cadets considered INA Memorial more of a temple and not just a public place and it is their honour to clean the complex.
