As many as 14 candidates of Imphal East district, including minister Th Biswajit Singh of the BJP, filed nomination for the Manipur Assembly Election 2022 on Monday.
The candidates filed their nominations at their respective returning officer (RO) office around 12 noon. Among the 14 fourteen candidates are Th Bishwajit of BJP; Sanglakpam Preshorjit of JD-U and Seram Niken of Congress from Thongju Assembly Constituency (AC).
Early in the day, Biswajit, Minister for Public Works, Power, RD & PR, Information & Public Relations, Administrative Reforms, Textiles, and Commerce and Industry, sought the blessings of the devine power.
"I am filing my nomination from Thongju constituency today, with the divinely blessings of Almighty and my father. Let’s together build a new Manipur! Seeking your Blessings!" Biswajit tweeted.
For Kshetrigao AC, Sheikh Noorul Hassan of NPP and Nahakpam Indrajit of BJP filed nomination. For Andro AC, Th Shyamkumar of BJP and L Sanjoy of NPP filed nomination. For Keirao AC, Lourembam Rameshor of BJP and MI Khan of NCP filed nomination.
