The Imphal East magistrate on Saturday appealed to the people to comply with the curfew order and not to venture out of their houses during the curfew period in order to prevent unwanted elements creating tension and violence.
A statement issued by Imphal East district magistrate Khumanthem Diana Devi appealed to the people of the state not to venture out of their respective houses during the curfew period to avoid any untoward incident which may unnecessarily confront the security forces who are deployed for the safety and security of the general public.
The coming out from their respective houses during the period of curfew hours not only risk themselves from the security forces but also from the unwanted elements who are there to create tension and violence, it mentioned.
The unfortunate incident of May 3 and the following couple of days has rendered many persons homeless and not less than 12000 persons are in various relief camps operational in Imphal East district alone, it informed.
The Imphal East district administration is trying hard to secure the district by adequate security deployment of district police and CAPF Arm Forces in violence prone areas and in consultation with the superintendent of police (SP) Imphal East, it added.
