IMCYA members call on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey

International Meitei Christian Youth Assembly (IMCYA) urged all the ethnic tribes of Manipur to pray and respect one another.

Members of the International Meitei Christian Youth Assembly (IMCYA) on Tuesday held a meeting with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey.

IMCYA ambassador Rohan Philem; advisors reverend Shyam and reverend Surajkumar; general coordinator- Suresh Moirangthem, public relation coordinator Rishi Polem and media coordinator Naresh Shagolshem were among those who took part in the meet, stated a release.

Talks regarding the May 3 incident and restoration of peace in Manipur were held during the meet, it stated. It also urged all the ethnic tribes of Manipur to pray and respect one another.

The governor also appealed to all the ethnic and religious groups to respect each and every religious belief, it stated. She further assured that the state government is making all out efforts to restore peace and normalcy and requested the public for their support and cooperation towards the same, it asserted.

Speaking on the sidelines, Rohan Philem mentioned that Christmas celebration this year will be held in a low key manner with only prayer service without any merriment as announced by the Christian organisation, it added.
