The Committee on Present Issue of Manipur (COPIM) on Friday called upon people of all communities of the state to strive for unity, peace and harmony and asserted that igniting conflict and animosity among each other will only bring loss.
The committee, in a release, highlighted the causes and hardships brought upon by the prevailing conflict among two communities in the state, adding that it has injured many, damaged several properties and even resulted in loss of lives.
COPIM said that committee has been initiating various measures to protect and safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur ever since its inception and assured to continue the same, it mentioned.
The committee further condemned the deliberate attempts of some communities to create conflict among ethnic communities of the state and reiterated its appeal to all to set aside religious and communal differences and strive for unity, peace and harmony, it stated.

The Youths Foundation for Fitness and Service Manipur (YOFFS), Manipuri Student Federation (MSF), All Manipur Meiteipangal Clubs’ Organisation (AMMPACO), All Manipur Manpower Up liftmen Centre (AMMUC), Pangal Student Organisation (PSO) and Meirapaibi Welfare Association of Kangleipak (MEPWAK), it added.
