Kakching district police seized huge quantities of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and Distilled Illicit Country (DIC) liquor on Tuesday.
As per police sources, Kakching Police received reliable information around 2.30 pm on Tuesday that some persons have stocked piled a huge quantity of IMFL/DIC at Pallel Mamang Leikai and Maning Leikai. Following the tip off, a team led by subedar Birla Soraisham, OC, Kakching commando with SI Rocky Singh, SI Mothilphun Dangshawa of Pallel PS and HC Napoleon Singh along with their team comprising of women personnel rushed to the area and raided the suspected houses and conducted house searches at Pallel Mamang Leikai and Maning Leikai.
The police source said that during the house search, a huge amount of IMFL/DIC liquors were seized. The seized items include Sterling Reserve 750 ml, 4 boxes, Sterling Reserve 375 ml, 6 boxes, Sterling Reserve 180 ml, 5 boxes, MCDowell's 750 ml, 20 boxes, MCDowell's 375 ml, 5 boxes ,MCDowell's 180 ml, 5 boxes, Old Monk 750 ml, 13 boxes, Officer’s Choice (OC) 750 ml, 5 boxes, Officer’s Choice (OC) 375 ml, 2 boxes, Royal stag 750 ml, 6 boxes, Royal stag 375 ml, 1 box, Magic Moments Vodka 375 ml, 1 box, Magic Moments Vodka 180 ml, 2 boxes, King Fisher Beer 500 ml, 7 boxes, KingFisher Beer 650 ml bottles, Tuborg Beer 500 ml, 3 boxes, Diablo Beer 500 ml, 3 boxes,Maximus 500 ml, 1 box, Imperial Blue 700 ml, 3 boxes , Imperial Blue 350 ml, 2 boxes ,Imperial Blue 175 ml, 1 box ,MCDowell 175 ml, 1 box ,Old Monk 750 ml, 8 glass bottles.
It further contained Old Monk 750 ml, 7 plastic bottles, Old Monk 375 ml, 18 glass bottles, Sterling Reserve 375 ml, 21 glass bottles, MCDowell 180 ml, 12 glass bottles, Magic Moments Vodka 750 ml, 14 bottles, Magic Moments Vodka 375 ml, 19 bottles, Myanmar can 330 ml, 47 cans of beer, Myanmar can 500 ml, 10 cans of beer, Diablo 500 ml, 16 cane beer, DIC 1 litre, 26 bottles and DIC 0.5 litre, 78 bottles.
The police source added that at least four individuals have been apprehended for possessing the above illegal liquor by observing formalities.
The apprehended persons are Thongam Dingku Meitei ,25, son of Th Kumar Meitei from Pallel Maning Leikai, Moirangthem Rabi Meitei ,40, son of M.Nandabi Meitei from Pallel Mamang Leikai ,Salam Yaimabi Devi ,55, wife of late S Nersing from Pallel mamang Leikai and Moirangthem Jamuna Devi ,50, wife of late M Munal Singh from Pallel Mamang Leikai.
The accused persons, along with the seized liquors, were produced before Pallel Police Station and they were handed over for necessary action against them, the sources added.
