Hit and Run Case: JAC demands arrest of culprits

The JAC on Hit and Run Case of Ksh Rajesh on Sunday staged a sit-in protest at Singjamei Thongkhong in Imphal West, demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the hit and run case at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai in Imphal West that happen nearly a month ago.

The accident that happened near the NRL Oil Pump at Mayengbam Leikai in the intervening night of March 4 and 5 had left Rajesh in coma till date at the ICU of Shija Hospital. The four wheeler which reportedly hit Rajesh had escaped and the driver is still at large.

It is unfortunate that the police are still unable to collect and clue and nab the culprits involved in the hit and run case, said a protester Khangembam Momalia.

She pointed out that family members of Rajesh had so far spent around Rs. 14-15 lakh in his treatment, leaving his family in an economically unsound condition. She drew the attention of the state government for compensation for the treatment and for speedy investigation of the crime

The government remaining as a silent spectator to the above demands, will compel the JAC to take up various forms of agitation, she cautioned.
