Locals of Heirok paid tributes to the three youths who were killed at the Heirok Thabal Chongba shooting incident on March 24, 2008, at the RPN Memorial park, Heirok Part I, Thoubal district, Manipur on Sunday.

In the event entitled ‘Mangal Piba Numit’ (Day of Enlightenment), the RPN Memorial Trust along with the locals of Heirok and the bereaved family tearfully remembered and paid floral tributes to the departed souls of the three youths who lost their lives at the shooting, namely, Thokchom Romesh, Thokchom Promila and Laishram Nirmala.

In the Heirok incident of 2008, three youths, including two girls, were killed in indiscriminate firing by some activists of an underground group and blinding another girl during Yaoshang festival of the year 2008.
