Heavy winds continued to blow and wreaked havoc in Tamenglong district of Manipur for two days consecutively.
Due to heavy winds, electricity supply has been shut down till Wednesday. Many paddy fields in villages have been destroyed by the winds.
The farmers are in panic now, saying that their paddy will be ruined and their labour for the entire year wasted. They also fear that they will reap less food grains and face shortages this year.
Tin roofs were blown away from many buildings and houses. However, there have been no reports of any untoward incidents till the time of filing of this report.
Even at district headquarters, people are restless due to the winds continually blowing and power supply remained shut. The mobile towers were switched off as well.
