The Lions Club of Imphal paid floral tribute to its founder Melvin Jones on his 144th birth anniversary, and held a Diabetes Detection and Awareness Camp at Chanura Leikol Children Home, Khurai Laishram Leikai.

The Lions Club of Imphal stated in a release that 60 people, including the inmates and officials of the children's home were screened for diabetes. The club also handed over food items, sanitary pads and financial aid to the home, it continued.
The speakers of the event recalled Melvin Jones’ journey in starting the Lions Club. The event was attended by Lions Club of Imphal president P Brajamani, dist 322D cabinet secretary W Bhaktaraj along with its members.
