Many talented youths are emerging from the state and they should utilise their potential wisely to bring welfare for the state as well as for the country instead of being government jobs seekers, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba said on Friday.

Urging the people to shun taking financial aid from intending candidates during election time, he said without people's participation it is hard to create a corruption free state or country. To start building a corruption free society, people can start with the coming election by not taking any kind of financial assistance from any candidate, he added.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the North Eastern Council funded facilities of two separate 100 bedded SC/ST hostel for boys and girls and one indoor basketball hall at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) located at Akampat, Imphal East on Friday.

Calling upon youths to understand the political scenarion of the state, he said it does not mean that they should join political campaigns or political conferences but they must elect a resourceful candidate.

He said that daily activities including interacting with a person is also a form of politics and without politics human beings cannot be differentiated from an animal.

He also said talented youths should utilise their skills and potentials cautiously so that they can contribute for a better economy. Some students have lots of potential but are unable to join coaching classes for civil service examination due to financial problems, he said.

“To give those students an opportunity, the state government has taken an initiative of giving coaching classes here in Imphal. About 1,600 students were enrolled for the coaching class where 600 students were given online classes and 250 students were given offline classes,” Leishemba added.
