Har Ghar Tiranga: Poetry recitation held

A patriotic poetry recitation event was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi as the chief guest, along with Power, Forest, Agriculture and Science and Technology, government of Manipur minister Thongam Biswajit.

A poetry recitation competition for students of Thoubal and Kakching districts on the occasion of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was organised at MMRC park, Khangabok, Thoubal on Wednesday.

The poem recitation for students was organised on the occasion of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ of hoisting the Indian flag at every household of the nation from August 13 till 15 as part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in celebration of 75 years of independence of India. The competition was organised by BJP Thoubal district at MMRC park of Khangabok.

The event was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi as the chief guest, along with Power, Forest, Agriculture and Science and Technology, government of Manipur minister Thongam Biswajit, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ convenor P Premananda Meitei, co convenor M Priyokumar, BJP Thoubal district in charge and state secretary K Inaocha Devi, BJP Thoubal district president Y Kumarjit, and social workers Kh Menjor Mangang and L Basanta.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest A Sharda Devi said that “during the 75 years of independence till now, it was only when the PM N Modi led BJP government came to power that the citizens of India could taste true freedom.”

She recalled the various schemes implemented by the PM N Modi led BJP government to help the poor and downtrodden section of the society. “The nation was able to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic owing to the commendable efforts of the BJP government,” she added.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ was organised to incite the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the youths of the nation, she mentioned. She also encouraged the participants of the poem recitation competition to take pride in participating in such patriotic events.

Thongam Biswajit spoke on the importance of remembering the martyred freedom fighters during the celebration of Independence Day.

During the poem recitation competition Archana Ningthoujam of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, Khangabok secured first prize, Linthoi Chanu Waikhom of Catholic School, Canchipur secured second prize, and L Sonia of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School secured third prize.

Meanwhile, as part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ a painting competition for the students was organised by the Kakching Public School, Kakching.
