A gunfight between suspected Kuki militants and village volunteers took place around Awang Leikinthabi Nongpok Ningthou Ching on Thursday afternoon.

Sources said that the gunfight which started around 1.45pm continued till 6.20pm.
Another gunfight also took place within the areas of Sekmai Nongthonband till Luwang Sangol on the same day.

As per sources a suspected Kuki militant armed with LMG might be dead in the gunfight.
