Manipur University vice chancellor N Lokendra on Saturday stated that the diverse skill set and proficiency of Manipuri youths in various professional sectors put the human resource quality at par with others outside the state.
He was speaking at the graduation ceremony of 2018-19 MBBS and BDS batch of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) at the institute’s auditorium hall.
Altogether, 150 MBBS and BDS students graduated and took their Hippocratic oath to promote and uphold the ideal medical ethics in their practice. He pointed out that treating physical ailments was not the sole duty of the medical practitioners and added that nurture and emotional support were also vital in the field.
Practitioners should keep on learning and exploring their respective medical branches to improve their treatment and diagnostic methods,” he said.
He further stated that discipline and character must be developed to excel in any professional career.
Meanwhile, JNIMS director L Deben highlighted that the students who graduated were now embarking on a new journey in their lives.
He maintained that they should uphold proper medical ethics in their practice and added that the output of well versed medical practitioners made JNIMS one of the leading medical institutes in the Northeast.
JNIMS medical superintendent Kh Lokeshor, JNIMS dean Supriya Laifangbam and JNIMS Dental College principal Nidarsh D Hegde along with the parents and students took part in the programme.
