Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Monday inaugurated Dental College Block at the new campus of RIMS and new modular OT at operation theatre complex, RIMS Hospital.
Speaking as a chief guest of the main function held at the institute's jubilee hall, the Governor hailed the roles and responsibilities of doctors in the society especially during the tough times of the Covid pandemic.
Ganesan exhorted doctors and medical personnel to do something for the country as well. He also stressed on the need for instilling the feeling of nationalism among the people especially the youths.
The Governor echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement about Har Ghar Tiranga campaign which is being held under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, where the Prime Minister urged the people to become a part of this movement, and hoist the Tricolour or adorn their homes with it from August 13 till 15.
He further hailed RIMS as the 'pride of NE' over the institute making it to the top 50 medical colleges in NIRF rankings for four consecutive years. He went on to say that many youths, especially girls have now willingly chosen dentistry as a career option.
Ganesan also expressed hope that the newly inaugurated building and facilities will benefit the doctors, medical students and the patients.
Taking part in the event, RIMS Director A. Santa highlighted the updates and transformations of the Hospital, adding that the Hospital is now able to provide complete dialysis treatment. He also highlighted the various services offered by the Hospital to the people.
RIMS medical superintendent professor N. Sanjib, staff, students among others attended the function.
