The Communist Party of India, Uripok Local Council on Saturday condemned the Central and state government’s alleged failure to take effective measures to resolve the prevailing conflict in the state even when it is nearing two months.
The local council held an exclusive meeting on June 22 wherein attendees deliberated on the immense sufferings caused by the conflict, indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians by armed Kuki militants and uncertainty facing the displaced victim among others, stated a release.
It alleged the government of failing to intervene to end the violence and demanded swift action. It also questioned the stoic silence of the Prime Minister over the prevailing crisis and dubbed him incompetent for failing to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
It further urged the government to find a political solution to resolve the prevailing issue at the earliest, and warned that the local council will join efforts with the state party and launch intense agitations.
