Universal Family Organisation (UFO), noting the prevailing volatile situation in the state, on Friday urged the Central and state government to hold peace talks with the Kuki leaders by Monday and strive to restore peace and normalcy in the violence-hit state.
UFO, in a release, proposed that it will hold peaceful dialogue with leaders of all the communities residing in the state and make all-out efforts to resolve the prevailing issue within seven days, should the government’s meeting with the Kuki leaders end in a stalemate.
It also sought assistance and support from the government, central and state forces and the general public towards their proposed initiative. It further appealed to all those concerned to refrain from violence and instead try to resolve the issue amicably, to bring back peace and harmony in the society and the state as a whole.
