The International Gorkha Forum (IGF) on Sunday appealed to the Kuki community and its CSOs to address the issue of Manipur at hand as soon as possible before it takes an ugly turn.
In case of any eventuality, the Central government, state government, the Kuki community and its CSOs should bear the responsibility, stated a release issued by media-convenor of IGF Bharat Belbase.
The release stated that the wound is still afresh when in 2012, the Congress government deleted four GPs namely Koubru Leikha, Toribari, Kalapahar and Santolabari Parsain for reasons best known to the government at the cost of the Gorkha community.
Stating that the Gorkhas remained silent to the decision of the government, it said that today push has come to shove and now the Gorkhas worldwide will not remain mute spectators to the atrocities to their people in Manipur.
"The Gorkhas being peace loving contents to what is given, have not harmed any community in any manner anywhere and our silence and tolerance should not be considered as our weakness in any manner and history stands this truth," the release mentioned.
