“A good leader should sacrifice and live for the wellbeing of people,” said Heirok MLA Thokchom Radheshyam after laying the foundation stone for Kakmayai RCC Bridge on Sunday.
Pointing to the COVID-19 pandemic, Radheshyam said that in the last couple of years, Heirok AC suffered immensely with an increase in the positive cases among people. He said that people in Heirok should be aware that the politicians who try to contest the upcoming election from Heirok AC have extended any help to the people or not.
He further said that a true politician will never harm its people or create enmity between the families, clans and villages. Moreover, it is not the right way of a true politician to teach the youths using intoxicants and belabour workers of rival party just for winning the election.
The MLA also announced several developmental works that will be taken up at Kakmayai within a short period of time.
It may be mentioned that the new Kakmayai RCC Bridge will benefit to Kakmayai Mamang Leikai, Chingsubam Leikai, Sorokhaibam Leikai and Yumnam Leikai.
The foundation stone laying programme was also attended by Heirok Jilla Parishad member T Nungshi; former Leirongthel Ningel GP pradhan, Ingocha; and many prominent social workers and elder persons from Kakmayai Sorokhaibam Babu.
