Gathering at bungalow not related to elections: Manipur CM Biren

For the last few days, a number of people, especially women were seen going inside the CM Bungalow and there are rumours on social media that it was connected to the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday clarified that there was no harm in people coming to the Chief Minister’s bungalow as they would still come to meet him after the election reiterating that it was not related with the upcoming election.

CM Biren made the statement during the 44th Foundation Day celebration of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday at the state party head office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal.

CM Biren said the Lok Sabha Election is to be conducted on April 19 and April 26 for inner and outer parliamentary constituencies respectively. He informed the people to discuss the election manifesto of some political parties especially which is mentioned on serial number 4 of the manifesto.

In that election manifesto, it clearly mentions which could disintegrate the territorial boundary and integrity of Manipur, the CM said and appealed to the CSOs, club organisations and others to discuss the manifesto in an open forum.

He further said Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya and Syama Prashad Mukherjee are the leaders who have vision. They are the leaders who took a major role to unite India and the present generation should remember them, he said.

Manipur is a part of India and it is the sole duty of BJP to safeguard Manipur, he added.

State president A Sharda Devi said each member of the BJP party should prioritise promoting the party. Each member of the party is responsible for strengthening the BJP party, she said, adding with confidence that BJP will win over 370 seats.
