The Garden Care, a service provider under Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), on Monday felicitated chairman of the Chakhao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Limited Chongtham Shanta, who was conferred the Jaivik Award 2022.
The Jaivik Award 2022 was conferred to Chongtham Shanta on September 23 by the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA) which was supported by the ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the Karnataka government.
The Jaivik awards are awarded in recognition of unique initiatives and exemplary contributions in the organic sector in India after exhaustive and transparent peer review and jury selection process were followed to ensure awards are conferred upon only worthy contributors.
Speaking at the felicitation program held at the office of the Garden Care in Imphal East, Shanta expressed his gratitude to the Garden Care for supporting him from the ground level to the present status wherein Chakhao is presented to the global market.
He also wished that the Garden Care continued to flourish and be a model service provider among the service providers under MOMA.
Organic farming was boosted in the state with the introduction of Mission Organic Value Chain Development in Northeast Region (MOVCDNER) by the central government in 2016.
