The district administration Tamenglong on Friday conducted a full rehearsal for the 75th Indian Independence Day celebration at Mini Stadium, Lower ground in Tamenglong.
The district administration has prepared 36 parade contingents, including 5th Manipur Police, Manipur Police, CRPF, ASHAs, ICDS workers led by general parade commander Paukhanmung Guite and additional superintendent of Police Tamenglong.
On the occasion, the deputy commissioner Tamenglong Pawan Yadav said that after the pandemic of COVID- 19, celebration of Indian Independence Day has had the highest numbers of parade contingents.

He said that there will be a march past competition among the schools. He wished and urged all to come forward to celebrate the glorious celebration together with district administration.
It may be mentioned here that the students and teachers are happy and highly excited to march over the natural green grass for the first time in the history of Tamenglong.
In earlier years, children were made to march over the muddy ground and many would fall sick after the Independence Day celebration.
As part of the Azadi KaAmrit Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and as part of War on Drugs campaign a pledge was taken to ban all forms of drug during the full rehearsal at Lower ground
