The annual event of Central for Community Initiative (CCI) known as ‘Friends of TMI Day’ was observed on Wednesday at the Green Hills Resort, Mata Mualtam. It was flagged off at the Malsom Ability Resources Centre by CO of 1st IRB Lunkhomang Khongsai in the presence of CCI Managing Board Member H Ginsianlal.
Green Hills Resort hosted the day for the children from The Mansawm Initiative (TMI ) who were mostly PWD or Differently abled Persons numbering about 60, including Staff of CCI/TMI. Food and recreational activities were also provided free of cost by the Green Hills Resort management.
It may be mentioned that every year on April 23, The Mansawm Initiative (A School for children with Special need) observes the day wherein donation drives were also held. However, due to the current crisis, the day this year was observed as a fun day or outing day for the Children with support from many well-wishers.
At present, CCI has a school for 43 students with Crossed Disability, 36 children under Early Intervention programme, 50 under home-based care and 16 students are provided with therapy service.
Under advocacy and Community Empowerment, the CCI also advocates and helps the children to get UDID cards and health insurance.
