After he was officially declared as an Independent candidate by his Chief Agent Mang Chongloi, Rev. K. Hangshing, Chairman, Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship invoked blessing prayer placing his hands upon Thangminlen Kipgen who knelt to seek God’s blessing.

Addressing the gathering, Thangminlen Kipgen said that everyone wants changes and development through peace and tranquility but concerning our constituency and few others, it is not peace and tranquility that would bring changes and development.

“It is the fear that entangled the changes and development we want to surface in our society, so, we need to oust the fear within us first so that we can be the change we want to witness”, he asserted.

He continued that in the largest democratic country like India, we have been enshrined with various rights and freedom but the fear within us has restricted all our rights and freedom and ultimately entrapped the changes and development we want to witness in our society.

“I come forward and stand for the people to let go of the fear within us, which has become the root cause of all our stumbling blocks to usher in changes and development in the society”, he added.

“The fear to speak out, the fear to stand up and defend our rights and freedom, the fear to voice our opinions, to fear to claim our rights and privileges, and the fear against all wrongdoers, has denied for long the changes we want to see and the development we want to experience”, he further added.

He asserted that together it is time to oust the fear within us if we really wanted to bring changes in the society and I will lead ahead to let go of the fear in the larger interest of our long-cherished dream of true changes and development in our society.

He maintained that it is not the highway where we should highlight our grievances as the highway is the right platform. We did it on compulsion as we have no representatives to put up our grievances on the right platform, i.e. in the house/assembly, he added.

Thangminlen Kipgen also said that he will soon file his nomination.

Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District, Kuki Women Union Kangpokpi, KSO Sadar Hills, TSA Sadar Hills also attended the declaration of Thangminlen Kipgen.
