Former minister Daisin Pamei breathed his last on Tuesday afternoon after prolonged illness at his residence in New Salem Tamenglong ward No IV; his funeral service was held on Wednesday at his residence.
Late Daisin Pamei served as works minister from 1990 to 1995 during the regime of chief minister RK Ranbir. He was 81.
Late Daisin Pamei (Retired) deputy SP Nagaland police is survived by his wife, five sons and two daughters. He also has eight grandsons and nine granddaughters.Hundreds of people from different walks of life turned up to bid adieu to the former minister at his residence during the funeral service.
Dailong Baptist Church Pastor Rev Keiningluwang Pamei performed the Christian ritual funeral service.
Various civil organisations and individuals laid wreaths to show love and honour to the late Daisin Pamei.
Meanwhile the Manipur Ex MLAs Welfare Association extended condolences on the demise of the former member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Daisin Pamei who passed away on Tuesday.
Daisin Pamei served as deputy superintendent of Nagaland State Police, stated a release.
He took voluntary retirement from the services of the Nagaland State police service and contested the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election in the year 1990.
He was appointed as Minister of State incharge of Works and Minor Irrigation, it mentioned. He was Minister of State (Industries) in the Year 1994, it further stated.
He passed away at his home, Dailong village, Tamenglong on Tuesday. He is survived by his wife Direiliu Pamei and five sons and two daughters, it added.
The members of the Manipur Ex MLAs Welfare Association paid homage and observed a two-minute silence in honor of the departed soul on Wednesday at 1.30 pm at the premises of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Chingmeirong Imphal.
